Performance Horizon opens new Baltimore office

Find me on:

Yesterday we announced the opening of their new Baltimore office facility in the Highlandtown section of Baltimore. The 7,000 square foot space on North Haven Street is designed to create a dynamic work environment for the team and allow for significant staff expansion in the months and years ahead.

And to help us celebrate this important milestone in our relationship with the city, Baltimore Mayor Catherine Pugh came to cut the ceremonial ribbon, signalling our official opening.

And here’s a video of our press conference.

Performance Horizon selected Baltimore as its first US location in 2009, capitalizing on the city’s strength as a hub for technology talent. The robust Baltimore tech community and the city’s proximity to major colleges and research universities make it an ideal place to identify, recruit and retain great professional talent. The company’s Baltimore team now numbers about thirty professionals, and the Baltimore office is projected to grow to forty team members within next 18 months.

The new office reflects Performance Horizon’s investments in the city and its fast-growing technology industry. Originally an abandoned train depot, the location was redeveloped by Metro Development and designed by Wurkspace, both Baltimore based companies.

“Our company is proud to be a part of Baltimore and its exciting and innovative tech community,” said Malcolm Cowley, CEO of Performance Horizon. “From the beginning, Charm City, its leadership, and its wonderful citizens have embraced us and helped to support our remarkable growth.”

Working with a number of local Baltimore companies, including Who Staffing and Groove Commerce, Performance Horizon contributes to the growth of other great businesses in the region. "It's always so gratifying to see former Emerging Technology Center companies outgrow the incubator and expand to their own offices in Baltimore City," said William H. Cole, president and CEO of the Baltimore Development Corporation (BDC).  "Performance Horizon's success and growth in Baltimore is yet another example of the robust start-up and technology community in the City."

Just for fun, here’s a “The building of...“ video you might enjoy.
